Yuriy Pryadko, Head of Strategy at Linecore talks about the latest web development trends in 2019:

Mobile First.

People use smartphones every day. For many people, the smartphone is their PRIMARY computing device. It beats me why the mobile version of many websites is still limited in functionality, or oftentimes doesn’t render well, or sometimes doesn’t exist at all.

Wide screens.

Wide screens are used more often, and not only by IT specialists. Gamers, people who work with large tables, with poor eyesight, try to increase the size of the image and fonts.

Minimalism.

The time has passed for complex, artsy effects – users choose an austere design. And you, the reader, yourself use similar minimalistic web platforms, Facebook, Twitter, you name it.

Micro-interaction with the site visitor.

Minimalism does not mean boring: micro-interactions add dynamics to the interface and direct the user’s attention to the necessary functional elements of the site.

Integration with external systems.

A simple corporate website with minimum pages and a blog usually integrates with: Google Analytics, CRM and marketing automation tools, advertising campaigns and social networking buttons, ratings.
For e-commerce, throw in online payments, delivery, sales and warehouse management, and customer service
The better they work together, the easier it is to achieve business goals: to strengthen the position of the brand, to attract new customers, to increase sales.

Video content.

In our winning project for Web Awards, a video has become the main tool for demonstrating the benefits of the product.
For another client, we created a full-fledged video catalogue of educational materials.

A typical structure…

that became boring by now:

Maps, more maps!

Most sites have maps:
from the basic “geography of our business” or even “how to get to us” on a one-page landing, to complex solutions that allow you to calculate the cost of delivery and build optimal routes for both personal transport and commercial goods.

Virtual and Augmented Reality.

  • Realtors sell homes using 360-videos.
  • Retailers display products in real size on your desk or floor furniture.
  • Virtual reality glasses are not needed – the smartphone uses the accelerometer.
  • Use branded cardboards as a gift.
  • Web VR is versatile. Walk inside the virtual world with Rift or Vive Pro.
  • The most expensive part is the 3D modelling.

But 360° content becomes more accessible, new devices for shooting regularly come to the market.
